About the World Cup 2026 Group Stage
The 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage will be held from June 11 to June 26, 2026, across venues in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. With 48 teams competing in 12 groups, this marks a historic expansion from the previous 32-team format.
Each group contains 4 teams that will play against each other once. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Round of 32, making for an exciting and competitive group stage.
